MUSCAT: Bank Muscat will defer loan payments for up to three months for customers impacted by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the bank has announced.
In a statement issued on its website, Bank Muscat said customers have the option to defer auto, personal and housing loan installments for up to three months. “Bank Muscat is pleased to offer support to customers impacted by COVID-19 pandemic. Affected customers have the option to defer auto, personal and housing loan instalments for up to three months initially,” Bank Muscat said.
The bank “may extend the deferment” by another three months subject to prevailing conditions at that time. “After the completion of initial deferment period, the Bank may extend the deferment by another 3 months upon the customer’s request, and subject to conditions prevailing at that time. Requests from affected customers will be accepted starting from May salary,” the bank said.
