MUSCAT: Vimto, a local favourite drink during Ramadan is back in the news after many people circulated videos on social media claiming that it is unsafe for consumption.
However, the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources has confirmed that Vimto is indeed safe to drink.
“Following some messages circulated in social media about two types of Vimto beverage, the ministry took some samples for laboratory tests, which proved that the drink meets quality standards approved in the Sultanate,” the Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
