MUSCAT: Oman will reach the peak of coronavirus in two weeks but all efforts to “flatten the curve” are underway and the number of cases may drop in six weeks, according to the country’s health minister.
Speaking to Oman TV, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al Saidi said even though the virus may peak in two weeks, the effect will reduce in three to six-week time. “So far we have not reached the peak. We may touch that level in two weeks but all the efforts we have done to reduce the spread may find results in few weeks. Mostly in three to six weeks time, we may a see a drop in the numbers,” Al Saidi said.
“I am very satisfied with all the efforts we have done to control the spread of the virus. People are adhering to the social distancing rules that we have put in place and that has helped to stop the numbers from spiking. I must thank everyone involved in cooperating with us,” Al Saidi added.
