MUSCAT: Despite the Supreme Committee’s order to close all commercial shops across the country, some shops carried on their business as usual paying scant regard to the government order.

On Saturday, Muscat Municipality shutdown a mobile store that was running its business in Baushar despite the ban. Last week as many as 10 shops within Muscat governorate were closed for violating the Supreme Committee’s instructions. This include laundry shops, sheesha joint and barbershops.

On March 23, the government ordered all commercial shops to close temporarily to prevent the spread of coronavirus pandemic in the country. “On a daily basis, our team go through all the shops across the governorate to ensure they adhere to the instructions. This is the time we should stand together to fight this epidemic,” added an official from Muscat Municipality.
