MUSCAT: International retail giant Lulu Group’s chairman M.A. Yusuff Ali on Friday donated Rs 10 crore to his home state Kerala in India to fight the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, which has so far infected 176 people in the state and took 17 lives across India and wreaked havoc globally.
Yusuff Ali’s contribution was announced by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Friday. Ali’s donation is so far the first and biggest to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
“Lulu Group Chairman MA Yusuff Ali decided to contribute Rs 10 crore to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund in his bid to join the fight against COVID-19,” Vijayan said in a statement.
