MUSCAT: Social distancing is the most effective way to reduce the number of coronavirus (Covid-19) cases in Oman as the country has entered the community transmission stage of the virus, according to His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Said Al Hosni, Undersecretary of Ministry of Health.
“We have entered the community transmission stage of coronavirus and we expect to see the numbers increase over the coming period,”he said in an interview with Oman TV.
There are now 109 cases of coronavirus in the country.

“The only way to reduce these numbers (cases) is to self isolate and practice social distancing,” he pointed out.
“About 9,500 people have been quarantined so far in Oman and the number of infected cases is likely to increase in the coming days,” he added.
