MUSCAT: Oman announced the shuttering of all retail shops in commercial complexes, except for food stores, commodity shops and pharmacies from 12pm on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 over fears of spreading coronavirus.
“Closure of all retail shops in commercial centres with the exception of food and commodity shops, clinics, pharmacies and optical shops,” the statement from the government said.
Oman, which has a total of 33 infected cases, has already shuttered mosques, banned the entry of non-citizens, and ordered the closure of gyms, health clubs, salons, traditonal markets, sports and cultural clubs.

Restaurants and Coffee Shops will only be allowed to have parcel service.
Furthermore, all people coming to Oman from any destination in the world will be quarantined immediately after their arrival for a period of 14 days.
These decisions was taken by the Supreme Committee headed by His Excellency Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidy, Minister of Interior.
