Muscat: Due to coronavirus outbreak, Oman has temporarily lifted restrictions on Skype, Voice Over Internet (VoIP), Google Meet and Zoom App so that people in both government and private sector can facilitate better communication.
According to a statement issued by the Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (TRA), lifting restrictions on Skype and voice over internet (VoIP) services would minimise the impact coronavirus could have.
“Due to the exceptional circumstances resulting from the spread of coronavirus, it has been decided to allow the use of some internet communication applications such as Skype, VoiP, Google Meet and Zoom App. Organisations can use these applications during this exceptional period,” TRA said in the statement.
