Muscat: A pharmacy in Muscat governorate was shut down on Wednesday after hiking prices of medical face masks, the Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP) informed.

The action comes as four coronavirus cases have been reported in Oman on people who had travelled from Iran and are currently under quarantine.

The Ministry of Health has called on all pharmacies and retail outlets not to increase the price of face masks and nose covers.

MOH said it is illegal to hike prices when there is a high demand with people taking extra precaution against the spread of Coronavirus. Meanwhile, PACP has urged all customers to report cases if they come across cases of hiked prices for face masks.
