MUSCAT: As part of the 10-year aviation strategy, the Ministry of Transport on Wednesday launched the ‘Muscat Airport City’ with an aim to develop the aviation-related businesses.
Muscat Airport City will act as an agent for economic growth as well as social wellbeing.
The Ministry also launched the National Travel Operator an online platform focused on the tourism industry. It will offer a full Omani travel experience and increase high-quality inbound leisure traffic to Oman.

Speaking to the media about the ambitious project, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al Futaisi, Minister of Transport said new initiative will help strengthen the aviation industry in Oman. “This is an important initiative from the government. Its an integrated city that will have logistical areas and warehouses, free zone near the airport and runway and business gates for aviation related businesses. This city will be a one stop destination for all your aviation needs,” Futaisi said.
