MUSCAT: Oman Air has cancelled more than 700 flights in February.
The carrier has axed all Boeing 737 MAX flights following the decision by the Sultanate’s Public Authority for Civil Aviation to ground all planes until safety issues are addressed by aircraft makers Boeing.
Flights to Delhi, Mumbai, Colombo, Jaipur, Hyderabad and Kathmandu among those affected, while flights to GCC including Medina and Manama are also affected, according to the list provided by the airline.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Oman Air said: “Dear valued guests, as a result of the Public Authority for Civil Aviation directives on suspending operations of Boeing 737 Max, we have cancelled the following flights in the period between 01st February to 29th February 2020.”
“We are rebooking guests on alternative / next available flights to their destinations. We advise all our guests who are due to travel during the same period to check the flight status or contact our call center +96824531111.”
The 737 MAX has been grounded throughout most of the world since March following a pair of deadly crashes that killed 346 people.
