Muscat: The Central Bank of Oman declared that specific banknotes would be terminated and withdrawn from circulation within 360 days starting from January 2024. The final date to exchange these banknotes is December 31, 2024. After this date, the affected banknotes will no longer be accepted as legal tender.
The banknotes slated for withdrawal include all issues before the 6th issue.
To facilitate the exchange, individuals can visit the Central Bank of Oman branches in Ruwi, Sohar, and Salalah, as well as other operating banks across the Sultanate.
