MUSCAT: Bank Muscat in line with its commitment to support the development of Omani human resources actively participated in the 6th Alumni Meet of the Sultan Qaboos University. The gathering, which was held under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Ali bin Saud Al-Bimani, the Vice Chancellor of the University, was attended by a number of dignitaries, alumni, faculty and non-teaching staff of the university as well as bank officials.
H.E. Dr. Ali bin Saud Al-Bimani thanked Bank Muscat for the strong partnership with the university and honoured the bank for enhancing cooperation with different institutions across the country. As the nation’s leading banking partner, Bank Muscat attaches great importance to national initiatives, especially in higher education aimed at sustaining the country’s progress and development. The association with Sultan Qaboos University stems from Bank Muscat’s commitment to the country’s future generations.
Ibrahim Khamis Al Balushi, AGM – Small and Medium Enterprises, Bank Muscat, spoke about the importance of Sultan Qaboos University to the progress and development of the country as a whole. Bank Muscat is keen to further strengthen bonds with Sultan Qaboos University and aims to contribute to Oman’s future by investing in talent which is the real wealth of the Sultanate. The bank actively participates in a number of events at the university every year including job fairs and training exhibitions as well as other events.
Ibrahim Al Balushi added: “Every year, Bank Muscat welcomes many Sultan Qaboos University graduates to take up various positions at the bank. The absorption of Sultan Qaboos University graduates reflects the bank’s focus to develop its young Omani leadership. The bank also offers training opportunities to a large number of young people besides providing multiple high-quality training programmes annually for all its employees to excel at their jobs. The bank organised 588 training programs for a total of 13,851 participants from 1st January to 31st October, 2019. The bank is proud to achieve an Omanisation percentage of 95% out of the bank’s total number of 3,731 employees. Notably, it has employed a large number of Sultan Qaboos University graduates over the past many years.”
