MUSCAT : As part of the Green Sports Programme from Bank Muscat, the leading financial service provider in the Sultanate of Oman, the Bank participated in the celebration of the opening of the Tadhamun Sports and Cultural Team Lighting Project in Rustaq, South Batinah Governorate, under the patronage of H. E. Dr. Hamad bin Saif Bin Ali al Hammami, permanent representative of the Sultanate of Oman to UNESCO, in the presence of Adnan bin Ahmed Al Balushi, Assistant Regional Manager of Bank Muscat branches, South Batinah Governorate, Yousuf bin Ali bin Khalfan Al Hatemi, Head of the Tadhamun Sports and Cultural Team, and a number of guests and team members.
During the ceremony, the Bank representative delivered a speech, expressing delightedness of the inauguration of the lighting system in Tadhamun team’s play yard which comes within the Green Sports Programme, one of the sustainable social responsibility programmes of Bank Muscat. “The initiative aims to supporting Omani youth and contributing to the development of local teams spread across governorates. This project allows team members to practice evening sports, which will help developing their skills while contributing to strengthening the infrastructure of Omani sports.” he stressed.

Yousuf bin Ali Al Hatemi, Head of the Tadhamun Sports and Cultural Team, expressed gratitude to Bank Muscat for its support provided to the local sports teams in Oman, adding that Green Sports programme represents an example to follow in the field of supporting youth talents and contributing to the development of local playgrounds, which are strategic locations for organizing various sports and community events and activities. Al Hatmi confirmed that the lightening system installed for Tadhamun team is considered a qualitative leap that will allow the team to organize various events and activities during the evening period, as well as to organize various sports and cultural competitions. This will also enable them to develop their talents.

At the beginning of the year, Bank Muscat announced the launch of the 13th edition of the Green Sports programme for 2024. A number of 20 sports team from across the sultanate will be supported in 4 four areas including greening of football fields with natural or synthetic turf, floodlights and water desalination equipment in areas facing water salinity. The programme has so far benefitted 183 teams with over 50,000 team members across the Sultanate of Oman.
