Muscat: Omani shoppers will get the chance to help ensure all children in Oman have the best possible education through showing their support for Dar Al Atta’a’s Free School Meals campaign. For every purchase of a Procter & Gamble brand in LuLu Hypermarkets during 21st November and 3rd December, one school meal will be donated to a school child.
Speaking on the initiative, Shabeer K.A., Regional Director – Lulu Hypermarket Oman, remarked “This National Day, we are happy to take a vital step to promote better nutrition to help create a healthier next generation. We have teamed up with Dar Al Atta to promote a proper diet and nutrition, both of which are important for the physical and mental well-being of children. According to studies, a nutritionally balanced diet helps children to focus more on learning and promotes good academic performance.”
“As the country enters its 50th year, we express our gratitude to His Majesty and the people of this noble country for their support and encouragement. We plan to take every step to serve the country and its citizens better and reach greater heights in the years to come,” he added.

Launched in 2006, Dar Al Atta’a’s Student Care Program assists 6,000 underprivileged families every year with a range of educational necessities such as school uniforms, meals and educational materials.
“Education is the greatest means to change a child’s life for the better,” said Dr Shamsa Al Harthy, General Manager, Dar Al Atta’a. “Our aim is to ensure that as many children in Oman have the best start possible through having a quality education, and that includes providing daily meals for them whilst they’re at school. Healthy children are happy children who give their attention to learning. This support will help us expand our free school meals program across the country.”
Procter & Gamble’s brands which are part of this campaign include household staples such as Always, Ariel, Downy, Gillette, Head & Shoulders, Pampers, Pantene, Olay, Oral-B and Tide. “We want to give consumers the opportunity to contribute towards the cause of education of children in Oman through simple brand choices.
