MUSCAT : Engineer Sulaiman bin Hamad Al Sunaidi, Director General of the Municipality of Al Dakhiliyah, emphasized the municipality’s heightened efforts in addressing the aftermath of the weather conditions. Swift response teams have been deployed to the most affected areas, promptly treating damages and restoring essential services. Operations include clearing water ponds, rehabilitation of damaged roads, and coordinated efforts with government departments and the private sector.

In the state of Adam, concerted efforts are underway to clear roads and manage water accumulation, with support from the Department of Transport and private companies. The municipality assesses citizen losses and promptly implements urgent measures to reopen affected roads. Areas such as Al-Salil and Al-Fulaij are receiving special attention, with drainage operations in full swing to ensure the safety and well-being of residents.

Similarly, in Bahla, the municipality has commenced road-clearing operations, addressing dust and sand accumulation resulting from rainfall. Collaborative efforts with private sector entities have expedited restoration, particularly in the market district and Al-Qurum. Additionally, vital connections between regions, such as the road linking the Matan area to Fahud, are being restored to facilitate smooth transportation.

Further efforts extend to states like Manah and Izki, where initiatives such as stream cleaning, waste removal, and protective measures construction are underway. Notably, constructing a sand protection dam in Wadi Imti underscores the municipality’s commitment to long-term resilience against weather-related challenges.
