Muscat: Oman’s cricket team received a heroes welcome after they returned from Dubai, qualifying for the T20 World Cup to be played in Australia next year.
On Wednesday, Oman won an extraordinary World Cup qualification after they beat Hong Kong in Dubai.
At the Muscat International Airport on Friday, the players received a red-carpet welcome from fans and cricket administrators.
Apart from Oman, Papua New Guinea, Ireland, Netherlands, Namibia and Scotland are the six teams who have qualified for the event from the World T20 qualifiers.
These six teams will join giant Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in the preliminary stages of the World Cup. Four teams among the eight will then progress to the Super 12 stage.
