Muscat – The celebration will take place as part of cultural activities accompanying the 28th edition of Muscat International Book Fair. It will explore the successful march of Nizwa magazine over the past three decades during which the publication continued to meet the aspirations of its readers.
The event will also demonstrate the extent to which Nizwa magazine contributed to scholarly discourse, spreading Omani culture and enriching the repertory of Omani intellectuals and writers.
During the event, the participants will discuss Nizwa magazine’s influence as a cultural guide to world writers and intellectuals.
It will also include seminars and dialogue sessions that address several themes in critical analysis, Omani poetry styles, oriental writings and civilized methods of exercising cultural influence, to name a few.
The celebration of the 30th anniversary of Nizwa magazine also anticipates the publication’s future potential amid interactions of a modern world of cognitive openness.
Nizwa magazine is issued by the Ministry of Information in the Sultanate of Oman. Its first issue was published by Oman Newspaper House in November 1994. The magazine is considered an Omani cultural arena where different Arab and international scholarly articles are presented to the readers.
In particular, Nizwa magazine stands out for its openness to various intellectual and literary schools, in a fabric that combines heritage and modernity. This enabled the magazine to gain great reputation, both at home and in and Arab world.
