Ahli Bank launches Contactless Debit and Credit Cards

MUSCAT: Ahli Bank, one of the leading Banks in Oman, announced the launch of Ahli Bank Contactless Cards, a technology that will make payments process safer, easier and faster, thereby enhancing the overall customer experience.

This feature will be available for all Debit and Credit Cards issued by Ahli Bank. The Contactless Cards can be used at millions of merchants, around the world, having POS terminals with the contactless symbol. To make a payment all that needs to be done is hold or tap the Ahli Bank Contactless Card in front of the Contactless terminal to automatically receive confirmation that payment was successful. You will then be offered the transaction receipt and the transaction is complete.

The Contactless Cards will also have Chip and PIN protection for security that makes them secure in all aspects. The cards can be used anywhere the contactless symbol is present for any transaction amount within the cardholder’s credit limit. However, for individual transaction up to OMR 20 per transaction and maximum cardholder limit up to OMR 60 or 5 contactless transactions, customers can use the card without the need to key in the PIN or sign a transaction receipt.
