Muscat: The MoU was inked by H.E. Dr. Abdullah bin Ali Al Amri, Chairman of Environment Authority of Oman, and H.E. Leila Benali, Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development of Morocco, on the sidelines of the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC (COP 28), which is being hosted in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
The comprehensive memorandum outlines the cooperative efforts between Oman and Morocco in various environmental domains. Key areas of collaboration include climate change, energy transition, environmental governance, and the imperative for sustainable management of waste and chemicals. The agreement is designed to strengthen partnership, enhance opportunities for exchanging experiences and boost implementation of multilateral international agreements previously entered into by both nations.
