NEW DELHI – India, holding the world’s second-largest share in cashew nut production and export, is a linchpin in meeting the burgeoning global demand for this versatile and nutritious commodity. Under the Union Ministry of Commerce, APEDA has fervently fortified India’s cashew industry, forging collaborations and exploring new markets while effectively addressing industry challenges. Bearing fruit after Cote d’Ivoire, India is the world’s second-largest producer and exporter of cashew nuts, contributing over 15 percent to the global market.
While the United Arab Emirates and the Netherlands remain primary export destinations, APEDA is diligently diversifying into unexplored markets, including Japan, Saudi Arabia, the UK, Spain, Kuwait, Qatar, the USA, and various European countries.
Abhishek Dev, Chairman of APEDA, highlighted the pivotal role played by farmers in elevating industry standards through their unwavering commitment to quality and sustainable farming practices.
