MUSCAT : The meeting was held with the participation of Their Excellencies Heads of subcommittees emanating from the Council and heads of the General Secretariat of the Omani-Saudi Coordination Council.
Speaking on the occasion, H.E. Sayyid Albusaidi said, “As is tangible and clearly visible, Saudi-Omani relations have witnessed during the past few years a qualitative shift in various fields, investment initiatives and steady commercial growth. The opening of the Rub al-Khali land port between the two countries in 2022 has added a strong impetus to the path of these relations and land transport between the two countries.”



He added that alternative energy projects and hydrogen production are at the forefront of the two countries’ common interests, in addition to cooperation in the energy sector, logistics sector, maritime transport and infrastructure, pointing to maximizing the benefit of the natural resources that the two brotherly countries abound and their pivotal geographical location.

His Excellency affirmed his confidence that the Omani-Saudi Coordination Council, its subcommittees, its general secretariat, and the governance and follow-up mechanisms it includes are capable of ensuring the implementation of agreed-upon joint initiatives for cooperation.
On the other hand, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, indicated in his speech that Saudi-Omani relations are proceeding under the auspices and care of the leadership of the two countries at a steady pace towards consolidating cooperation and strengthening the regional and international role, in a way that contributes to establishing security and stability in the region.
His Highness said: “The establishment of the Partnership Council and the holding of its first meeting and its joint committees represent an effective platform that frames the work of the two countries and invests in the available capabilities that the two countries enjoy in maximizing common benefits and interests.” He stressed that the consensus of views on all issues demonstrates the importance of continuing ongoing coordination on Bilateral, regional and international issues, and enhancing political consultation on all issues of common interest.
His Highness added that the Coordination Council and its subcommittees in the political, security, economic and investment fields are an effective tool for deepening cooperation between the two countries, including combating terrorism, protecting waterways, and renewable and clean energy.
The two sides reviewed the distinguished bilateral relations existing between the two countries, expressed their satisfaction with the positive and constructive results achieved, and stressed the importance of continuing to support and develop bilateral coordination and formulating common positions towards regional and international issues of common interest
The meeting embodies the close historical ties that unite the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and their brotherly peoples, and high directives of the leadership of the two countries, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King of Saudi Arabia, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
