MUSCAT: P M Jabir, Community Welfare Secretary with the Indian Social Club in Muscat, who has helped thousands of expatriates in the country was honoured at a function in UAE recently.
Jabir, who is also the director of Kerala Pravasi Welfare Board, was presented with Kairali TV’s Excellence Award for his selfless service over the last 37 years.
Jabir received the award from Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at an event held in Dubai. Since 1982, Jabir has been helping Indian expatriates, more so blue-collar workers. “When it comes to social service in GCC countries, Jabir is the name that comes to our mind first,” wrote Biju T Kuttamath, a resident in Muscat on his Facebook page, soon after Jabir received the award.
