MUSCAT : The platform is designed to link strategic plans with project implementation, improve data accuracy and provide senior management with real-time insights into the ministry’s performance, supporting informed decision-making and the early identification of challenges.
It is aimed at improving institutional efficiency, strengthening performance monitoring and enabling beneficiaries to complete transactions online without visiting ministry offices.

Asma bint Abdullah Al Sinani, Director of Digital Transformation at the ministry, said the initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to improve institutional performance and enhance the experience of service users.
She said Itqan enables the ministry to connect strategic objectives with project execution, monitor performance and access accurate, up-to-date data to support decision-making. The new electronic services, meanwhile, will simplify procedures and allow beneficiaries to complete transactions remotely.
Al Sinani added that the ministry aims to use digital solutions to improve coordination between its departments, promote transparency and strengthen institutional collaboration, while enabling employees to carry out their responsibilities more efficiently.
The platform provides project managers with tools to plan projects, track implementation and manage risks. It also clarifies employees’ responsibilities and highlights their contributions to the ministry’s strategic objectives, helping improve coordination and align institutional efforts.
The 14 electronic services cover four areas: adventure tourism, tourist facilities, fine art groups and caves. Beneficiaries can access the services online, eliminating the need to visit the ministry’s premises to complete the relevant transactions.
The launch forms part of the ministry’s broader digital transformation efforts to streamline internal operations, improve service delivery and enhance the efficiency of its administrative processes.
