MUSCAT: According to the ROP, the arrests were made by the Muscat Governorate Police Command after the suspect used bank accounts and phone numbers belonging to people of the same nationality to advertise goods, services and properties for rent on social media.
The advertisements were used to attract victims and obtain payments for goods, services or rental properties that were not legitimately provided.
The ROP stated that the arrested individual’s activities were linked to more than 60 online fraud cases.
