MUSCAT : In a road-safety public service video, released in Arabic and Urdu, the ROP highlighted several risks associated with heavy vehicles travelling on Oman’s roads, particularly desert and mountain routes.

The short video clip draws attention to the dangers of overloading trucks, which can affect vehicle balance, as well as defective or missing rear lights, particularly when driving at night.

It also warns against practices that can reduce visibility for other motorists after dark, increasing risks for vehicles sharing the road.

The ROP called on road users to comply with traffic safety requirements and concluded its message with a reminder to truck drivers that safe driving is a responsibility.
