Washington: Bitcoin climbed 5.08 per cent to reach $85,299 during trading, according to market data cited by the Oman News Agency (ONA).
The rally, however, eased shortly afterwards, with the world’s largest cryptocurrency trading at around $85,093.
Ethereum also moved higher, gaining 3.81 per cent to reach $2,746.01.

The rise marked a notable rebound for major cryptocurrencies, with Bitcoin returning above the $85,000 threshold for the first time in nearly eight months.
