MUSCAT: The port handled 2,322,695 tonnes of imports and 18,802 tonnes of exports during the six-month period, according to figures released by the port.
Khatir bin Ali Al Maamari, Chief Operating Officer of Shinas Port, said the facility plays a key role in Oman’s logistics sector due to its strategic geographical location and connectivity with regional and international trade routes.
He said the port has developed into an important hub for the movement and receipt of goods, supporting trade flows and maritime transport operations in the Sultanate.

Shinas Port received 1,837 ships during the first half of 2026, representing an increase of about 156% compared with the same period in 2025.
Building and construction materials accounted for the largest share of imported goods during the period, while general goods were among the leading categories of exports.
The port also recorded 103 transshipment operations during the first half of the year, an increase of 30 percent compared with the corresponding period of 2025. During the same period last year, the port handled 2,296,483 tonnes of cargo.
The latest figures highlight the continued expansion of activity at Shinas Port and its role in supporting Oman’s trade and improving the efficiency of maritime and logistics services across regional and international shipping routes.
