Hindi Diwas 2026 celebrated at the Embassy of India, Muscat

As part of the celebrations, various competitions were organised for participants, including completing idioms and proverbs, humorous poetry, a quiz, and essay writing.

MUSCAT : The Embassy of India, Muscat, organised a special programme at the Embassy premises to mark Hindi Diwas 2026, on 14 September, 2026. Organised in association with the Hindi Wing, the programme aimed to encourage interest in the Hindi language and provide a platform for creativity and expression through a range of competitions.

As part of the celebrations, various competitions were organised for participants, including completing idioms and proverbs, humorous poetry, a quiz, and essay writing. Participants took part with great enthusiasm and showcased their knowledge of Hindi, creative abilities and communication skills.

On this occasion, Ambassador H.E. Shri Prashant Pise, congratulated the participants for their enthusiasm and dedication towards the Hindi language. He noted that Hindi is not only one of India’s major languages but also a powerful link that reflects and connects India’s rich cultural diversity. He emphasised that such programmes play an important role in fostering greater interest in Hindi and in connecting the younger generation with the language and India’s rich cultural heritage.

During the programme, certificates and prizes were presented to participants who excelled in the various competitions. The contributions of the members of the judging panel, organisers and all participants were also appreciated for their valuable support in making the programme a success.

The Embassy of India, Muscat, continues to promote the Hindi language and strengthen the linguistic and cultural ties between India and Oman through the organisation of various programmes and activities centred on Hindi.
