MUSCAT : The agreement seeks to enhance the readiness of small and medium enterprises to benefit from opportunities available through Oman’s capital market, while expanding cooperation between MSX and institutions supporting entrepreneurship and private-sector growth.
Under the memorandum, the two sides will conduct training programmes and awareness workshops covering investment, financial markets and financial planning. They will also exchange expertise and information related to capital markets and SMEs, with the aim of providing practical knowledge tailored to the needs of businesses and entrepreneurs.
The partnership will also include joint events and programmes designed to introduce SMEs to financing and investment opportunities available through the Omani capital market and prepare them for more advanced stages of growth.

Badr bin Hamoud Al Hinai, Chief Operating Officer of the Muscat Stock Exchange, said the agreement builds on MSX’s efforts to strengthen investment culture and expand access to the capital market ecosystem.
He said the initiative would help SMEs and entrepreneurs better understand market mechanisms and available financing and investment options, enabling them to make more informed financial decisions and improve their prospects for sustainable growth and expansion.
Al Hinai added that cooperation with the Omani Academy for Small and Medium Enterprises would support the development of specialised training and awareness programmes suited to businesses at different stages of their development.
C.K. Bharati, CEO of the Omani Academy for Small and Medium Enterprises, described the memorandum as an important step towards greater integration in supporting and empowering SMEs.
He said combining expertise in entrepreneurship and capital markets would help raise financial and investment awareness among business owners and entrepreneurs, while improving their ability to keep pace with growth requirements and access opportunities within the Omani capital market.
The signing was followed by a meeting involving representatives from MSX, the Inma Fund and the Academy. During the session, MSX presented an overview of its Promising Companies Market and highlighted plans and initiatives aimed at supporting SMEs and preparing them for future growth.
The two sides also discussed potential joint initiatives in training, awareness and qualification, as well as programmes aimed at helping SMEs progress to more advanced stages of development.
