MUSCAT: Oman’s Ministry of Labour imposed fines totalling more than RO 3.24 million as part of enforcement action against labour violations across the Sultanate, according to its latest inspection results.
The ministry said fines reached RO 3.246 million following 6,707 inspection visits conducted across different governorates as authorities stepped up efforts to enforce the Labour Law and strengthen compliance in the labour market.
The inspections identified 11,172 workers in violation of labour regulations. Of these cases, 4,680 were referred to the Public Prosecution, while 2,944 workers were deported following enforcement procedures.

The inspection drive also resulted in 272 employment opportunities being registered pursuant to settlement decisions.
According to the ministry, the overall labour market compliance rate across Oman’s governorates stood at 69.5 percent.
