MUSCAT: In a public awareness advisory, the municipality said vehicles displayed for sale in unauthorised locations have a negative impact on the urban landscape, hinder the smooth flow of traffic and limit the proper use of public spaces.
The municipality stressed that using approved locations to advertise vehicles for sale contributes to a cleaner, more organised and attractive city while helping preserve public infrastructure and improving the quality of life for residents.
Muscat Municipality also outlined the enforcement measures it follows when dealing with violating vehicles. These include placing a warning sticker on the vehicle, granting the owner a specified period to remove it, and taking the necessary regulatory action if the violation is not addressed within the stipulated timeframe.
The municipality called on motorists to comply with the regulations and use only authorised locations when offering vehicles for sale, reiterating that public cooperation plays a key role in maintaining the city’s appearance, ensuring smooth traffic flow and protecting public facilities.
