MUSCAT : The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has reinforced operations at the Empty Quarter (Rub’ al Khali) border crossing in Al Dhahirah Governorate by deploying additional personnel and inspection equipment to facilitate the movement of travellers and vehicles.

In a statement posted on its official social media platforms, the ROP said the move is aimed at ensuring smoother traffic flow through the border crossing during the current period of increased activity.

The authority said the enhanced measures include strengthening the checkpoint with additional human resources and modern inspection systems to improve operational efficiency and reduce waiting times for those using the crossing.

The Empty Quarter border crossing serves as a key land gateway linking Oman with neighbouring Saudi Arabia and is widely used by commercial transport, tourists and other cross-border travellers.
