MUSCAT : The meeting aimed to enhance transparency, gather public feedback and involve service beneficiaries and stakeholders in developing regulatory and legislative frameworks for a safer digital environment in Oman.
Participants discussed key issues affecting children and families online, including digital education, awareness and guidance, the development of local content for minors, and potential risks associated with internet use.

The session also featured an awareness exhibition showcasing initiatives, technical tools and guidance designed to help protect children online, reduce digital risks and promote safer browsing practices.
The TRA emphasised that protecting children in the digital environment is a shared social responsibility that requires public awareness, open dialogue and cooperation among families, institutions and technology stakeholders.
Eng. Mahmoud bin Omar Al Zadjali, Senior Director of the Oman Vision 2040 Office at the TRA, said the dialogue provided an opportunity to hear diverse views and proposals and translate them into practical initiatives and solutions.
He added that the authority was committed to involving the community in its decision-making processes.
Al Zadjali also highlighted the outcome of a similar dialogue session held by the authority last year on electronic fraud. The discussions led to a proposal for a national platform to receive reports of harmful online activities, which the authority subsequently adopted and developed into the Turs platform, according to the announcement.
The TRA said it would review and analyse the recommendations, views and proposals submitted during the latest session to help shape future initiatives and regulatory measures.
