Muscat: The Oman Meteorology Department said on Monday that convective cloud activity is expected to persist over the Al Hajar mountain range and surrounding regions, bringing intermittent thundershowers ranging from light to heavy intensity.

The department said some of the thunderstorms could be accompanied by active downdraft winds, which may lead to reduced visibility due to blowing dust in exposed areas and brief periods of locally strong winds.

Residents in affected areas have been advised to monitor the latest weather updates and exercise caution, particularly in wadis and low-lying areas that could experience sudden runoff during heavy rainfall.
