Oman FM holds talks with Egypt, Canada and Pakistan on regional, bilateral issues

Oman’s Foreign Minister His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi held talks with his counterparts from Pakistan, Canada and Egypt on strengthening bilateral relations, expanding areas of cooperation and exchanging views on regional and international developments.

MANILA : The meetings took place on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting in Manila, marking the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia.

During his meeting with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Mohammad Ishaq Dar, His Excellency Sayyid Badr reviewed Oman-Pakistan relations and discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation in various fields.



The two sides exchanged views on regional and international issues of common interest, reaffirming the importance of continued consultation and coordination to serve shared interests and support security and stability at the regional and international levels.

His Excellency Sayyid Badr also met with Her Excellency Anita Anand, Canada’s Foreign Minister, where the two sides discussed bilateral relations and ways to build on existing cooperation to advance mutual interests.

The meeting also covered regional and international developments, with both sides highlighting the importance of coordination and consultation on issues of common concern.

In his meeting with His Excellency Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates, His Excellency Sayyid Badr discussed the deep-rooted relations between Oman and Egypt and explored opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation in areas benefiting both countries and their peoples.

The two ministers exchanged views on regional developments, particularly matters related to navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, efforts to reduce tensions and initiatives aimed at supporting peace, security and stability in the region.

The meetings were attended by His Excellency Engineer Nasser bin Saeed Al Manwari, Oman’s Ambassador accredited to the Republic of the Philippines, along with a number of officials from both sides.
