MUSCAT : In a public awareness message, the authority stressed that a seemingly harmless photo could affect another person’s privacy if shared without permission.

Using an illustrative example, the TRA highlighted a scenario in which a woman photographed a public place but later realised another person was clearly visible in the image. Before posting the photo, she sought the individual’s consent, reinforcing the importance of asking permission before sharing images that include other people.

The authority also advised the public to avoid photographing private situations or publishing images of individuals without their knowledge or approval, even if the photo was taken in a public setting.
