MUSCAT – The municipality said closing waste bin lids is a simple measure that helps maintain neighbourhood cleanliness, protect public health and preserve the appearance of residential areas.
It highlighted that uncovered waste containers can contribute to the spread of flies and mosquitoes, create unpleasant odours, increase rodent infestations and facilitate the transmission of diseases and infections.
The municipality also warned that improperly covered waste bins can negatively affect the cleanliness and visual appearance of surrounding areas.
