MUSCAT – In a clarification issued to address public queries, the Fund said the 1 percent contribution is borne entirely by the employer, and not by the insured employee.
The Fund explained that, in return for paying this contribution, employers are reimbursed by the Social Protection Fund for the amounts they pay employees during periods of sick leave and other types of leave covered under the social protection system.
