MUSCAT – The decline was mainly driven by lower production of several key petroleum products, including automotive fuels, diesel and liquefied petroleum gas, the data showed.

Production of car fuel fell by 5.5 percent during the period. Output of regular 91 petrol declined by 7.8 percent to 6.81 million barrels, compared with 7.39 million barrels in the same period last year.
Sales of regular 91 petrol dropped by 22.9 percent to 6.47 million barrels, while exports increased by 21.7 percent to 1.88 million barrels.

In contrast, jet fuel production increased by 5.5 percent to 11.72 million barrels. Although sales declined by 20.6 percent to 1.72 million barrels, exports rose by 20.2 percent to 9.70 million barrels.
Production of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) decreased by 5.8 percent to 4.52 million barrels, while sales fell by 21 percent to 1.29 million barrels. LPG exports recorded a marginal increase of 0.5 percent, reaching 1.37 million barrels.

Meanwhile, naphtha production increased by 2.2 percent to 15.60 million barrels, with sales rising by 7.6 percent to 5.95 million barrels. However, exports declined by 8.1 percent to 9.25 million barrels.
Production of other refinery products declined by 19.8 percent to 15.82 million barrels, while sales dropped by 32.4 percent to 12.16 million barrels. Exports of these products increased by 4 percent to 4.41 million barrels.

The statistics also showed growth in some petrochemical products. Gasoline production increased by 11.9 percent to 83,100 metric tonnes, while exports rose by 10.8 percent to 80,500 metric tonnes.
Paraxylene production increased to 272,000 metric tonnes, compared with 224,000 metric tonnes in the same period of 2025, while exports grew by 8.8 percent to 275,400 metric tonnes.

On the other hand, polypropylene production declined by 27.1 percent to 100,800 metric tonnes. Despite the lower output, sales increased by 15.3 percent to 15,800 metric tonnes, while exports fell by 29.8 percent to 77,100 metric tonnes.
