BAKU : This took place on the sidelines of the Shusha Global Media Forum hosted by the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The MoU was signed on behalf of the Omani side by Ibrahim Salim Al Salmi, Director General and Editor-in-Chief of Oman News Agency, while on the Azerbaijani side, it was signed by Vugar Aliyev, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC).


The Memorandum of Understanding aims to strengthen media cooperation between the two agencies, develop professional partnership in the exchange of news and information, serve mutual interests, and contribute to expanding the horizons of media collaboration between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The MoU encompasses the exchange of news services, photographs, video footage, and news bulletins in both Arabic and English, as well as the exchange of technical information related to news service transmission and reception methods. It also provides for mutual utilization of news content from both parties in accordance with applicable editorial policies, and the facilitation of necessary arrangements for correspondents and representatives of the two agencies.
Furthermore, the MoU stipulates the encouragement of exchange in training courses, expert visits, and specialized research in media fields of common interest. This is intended to enhance institutional cooperation between the two agencies, facilitate the exchange of expertise, develop professional performance, and keep pace with rapid developments in the media sector, thereby supporting the expansion of media cooperation avenues between the two countries.
This Memorandum comes within the framework of the shared commitment to strengthening media relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Azerbaijan, and advancing cooperation between media institutions in both countries, in a manner that serves mutual interests and keeps abreast of developments in media operations.
