MUSCAT – The initiative seeks to provide more efficient and comprehensive home care services for elderly people in need by strengthening cooperation between government institutions, civil society organisations and volunteer groups.

The Ministry of Social Development is leading the implementation of the programme by coordinating specialised working teams, conducting social case studies, identifying the needs of elderly individuals, and monitoring service delivery.

The initiative is being implemented through partnerships with several entities, including the Ministry of Health, which contributes through health assessments, monitoring chronic diseases, treatment follow-up and health awareness programmes.

The Ihsan Association supports the initiative by providing assistive devices, helping prepare homes for foster families, and assisting individuals requiring additional care and support.

Omani women’s associations are also participating through community engagement, awareness campaigns and support for local initiatives, while volunteer and charitable teams provide field assistance, logistical support and help identify and reach elderly people requiring services.
