MUSCAT: The 3-kilometre cable car system is expected to become a flagship addition to the Sultanate’s tourism portfolio, providing a unique sightseeing experience while further enhancing Muttrah’s status as one of Oman’s most visited heritage destinations.
Featuring fully air-conditioned cabins, the cable car will connect three key locations — the Muttrah Fish Market, Al Riyam Park and Kalbuh Park — allowing passengers to enjoy uninterrupted panoramic views of Muscat Harbour, the Gulf of Oman and the city’s historic quarters.
The system will operate through three stations. The Port Station, located near the Muttrah Fish Market, will serve as the main entry point. A Mountain Top Station, situated behind Al Riyam Park, will offer 360-degree views of the surrounding coastline and cityscape, while the third station at Hay Al Ward (Kalbuh Park) will complete the route.
