MUSCAT – In a public awareness message, the municipality said that a safe work environment begins with the correct storage of materials and equipment, urging all stakeholders to comply with safety requirements and contribute to promoting a culture of workplace safety.
The municipality outlined several key storage guidelines, including arranging materials and equipment securely, ensuring that walkways and emergency exits remain unobstructed, and storing items only in designated and organised areas.
It also advised work sites to carry out regular inspections of stored materials and promptly remove damaged or unusable items to minimise potential hazards.
As part of the safety measures, Muscat Municipality urged businesses to store liquids in appropriate, tightly sealed containers and keep flammable materials away from heat sources and potential points of ignition to reduce fire risks.
The municipality emphasised that organised storage not only improves operational efficiency but also plays a critical role in protecting workers, visitors and the public from preventable accidents.
