MUSCAT – The latest phase enforces the provisions of Decision No. 8/2024 and extends the ban to several additional commercial activities. Businesses now covered include khanjar shops, gold and silver jewellery stores, furniture outlets, vehicle dealerships, and car care centres.
The municipality said the phased rollout reflects its continued commitment to reducing dependence on single-use plastic shopping bags while promoting sustainable consumer practices and supporting broader environmental protection goals.
