MUSCAT – The ceremony began with the playing of the Omani Royal Anthem and the French Republican Anthem, after which His Majesty the Sultan inspected the Guard of Honour.
His Majesty then exchanged greetings with senior French government officials who received him, while the French Minister greeted the official delegation accompanying His Majesty.
As the royal procession departed towards the palace square, a squadron of bicycles from the French Republican Guard accompanied the procession.
Upon His Majesty’s arrival at the palace square, he was received by the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs and the First Brigade Commander and Military Governor of Paris.
The Guard of Honour commander presented the military salute and sought His Majesty’s permission to commence the official reception ceremonies.
