MUSCAT : The Modern College of Business and Science (MCBS) has achieved a significant milestone in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Sustainability Ratings 2026 (previously THE Impact Rankings), advancing more than 500 places globally from the 1501+ band in 2025 to the 801–1000 band in 2026. The achievement marks MCBS’s third consecutive year of recognition in the prestigious global rankings and reinforces its position as one of the leading higher education institutions in Oman, contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The 2026 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings assessed 1,646 universities worldwide, making it the world’s largest and most comprehensive evaluation of universities’ contributions to sustainable development. The rankings measure institutional performance against the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through teaching, research, stewardship, and community engagement.
MCBS demonstrated particularly strong performance in SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), achieving rankings in the 401–600 band globally across these categories. The latest ranking builds on a series of achievements that continue to strengthen MCBS’s international profile. In recent years, the institution earned a 5-Star QS Stars Rating, achieved AASHE STARS Gold recognition for sustainability performance, and was ranked among the Top 100 universities in the QS World University Rankings – Arab Region 2026.
