The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s U.S.-Oman Business Program in Washington, D.C., in collaboration with AmCham Oman, convened senior executives from across the United States and the Gulf region for a high-level executive briefing with H.E. Eng. Said bin Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.

The virtual briefing, titled “Navigating Regional Supply Chains: Oman’s Strategic Logistics Corridors,” brought together business leaders, investors, and logistics decision-makers to discuss Oman’s role as a strategic gateway for global trade. The session marked the first jointly hosted ministerial engagement between the two organizations, reflecting growing international interest in Oman’s infrastructure.

Steve Lutes, Vice President of Middle East Affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, said: “Oman’s strategic position at the crossroads of the Indian Ocean, Arab Gulf, and Asian trade routes makes it a critical anchor for global supply chains, offering stability, world-class infrastructure, and access to regional markets. Our discussion with the Minister reaffirmed Oman’s indispensable role as a reliable trade partner, and the U.S. Chamber looks forward to deepening this vital partnership to expand opportunities for American companies.”

Ali Daud, Founder and Chairman Emeritus of AmCham Oman, said: “As Oman continues to invest in world-class infrastructure and economic diversification, we see growing interest from international companies looking to build long-term partnerships. This dialogue provided an important opportunity to connect business leaders directly with decision-makers and to showcase the advantages that make Oman a compelling destination for trade and investment.”

Rebecca Olson, Chief Executive Officer of AmCham Oman, added: “This event reflected the growing importance of Oman within global supply chain discussions. We are honored to partner with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to provide companies with direct access to Oman’s leadership and to highlight the Sultanate’s strong trade relationship with the United States.”

The briefing came amid notable international recognition for Oman’s trade ecosystem. According to the World Bank’s Logistics Performance Indicators 2.0, Oman recently ranked first globally in Export Supply Chain Initiation and ninth globally in Import Supply Chain Termination, underscoring the efficiency of its ports and logistics operations.

The event formed part of ongoing efforts by both chambers to strengthen bilateral trade, promote investment opportunities, and deepen commercial ties between the Sultanate of Oman and the United States.
