MUSCAT – The projects, distributed across the Wilayats of Al Buraimi, Mahdah and Al Sunaynah, aim to enhance infrastructure, improve service facilities, develop tourism destinations and support investment opportunities across the governorate.
The development programme is expected to create added value by improving the urban landscape, increasing service efficiency and providing high-quality facilities that meet the needs of residents and visitors.
Among the key projects is the Artificial Lake Development Project – Phase Two, valued at RO 1.8 million, which aims to complete an integrated family tourism and recreational destination. The project includes roads, parking areas, a lake garden, fountains, walkways, umbrellas and seating areas, strengthening Al Buraimi’s appeal as a tourism and investment destination.

The plan also includes the completion of the Al Buraimi Oasis Development Project – Phase Two at a cost of RO 300,000. The works include developing areas surrounding the site, adding aesthetic and service elements, rehabilitating the municipal market, installing directional signs, creating a canopy for the bridge and providing supporting facilities to improve the visitor experience.
The programme further covers the Kiosks Site Establishment Project – Phase Two, valued at RO 100,000, aimed at organising commercial activities within a more attractive and efficient environment.
In the area of government services, the Al Buraimi Municipality Building is witnessing the implementation of the One Stop Project at a cost of RO 80,000. The project seeks to transform the existing Enjaz Hall into an integrated centre for visitors as part of the digital transformation programme for municipalities, improving service delivery and beneficiary experience.
Road infrastructure remains a major component of the development plan, with internal road paving projects in industrial schemes valued at RO 1 million, and similar projects for commercial schemes valued at RO 1 million, aimed at improving accessibility, traffic flow and investment readiness.

In the Wilayat of Mahdah, several projects are underway to enhance the urban environment and community facilities. These include the Wilayat Entrance Development Project valued at RO 100,000, featuring green spaces and aesthetic improvements, as well as the establishment of a Popular Market and Winter Camps Area at a cost of RO 400,000.
Mahdah’s projects also include the supply and installation of LED lighting pole heads in the state centre and Al Rawda district at a total cost of RO 110,000, aimed at improving energy efficiency, public safety and the visual environment. A children’s playground in Wadi Al Hayoul village is also being developed at a cost of RO 120,000 to provide a safe recreational space for families.
In the Wilayat of Al Sunaynah, development works include the establishment of a sports walkway valued at RO 120,000 over an area of approximately 11,718 square metres. The project includes shaded seating areas, play areas, landscaping works and supporting facilities.
The wilayat is also witnessing the Development of the State Entrance (Al Sunaynah Park) project at a cost of RO 80,000, featuring afforestation works, green spaces, walkways and a central fountain to enhance the area’s aesthetic identity.
Supporting food security infrastructure, a project to design and pave roads leading to food security projects in Al Sunaynah is being implemented at a cost of RO 630,000. The project aims to improve access to agricultural production sites and strengthen infrastructure supporting the sector.
The governorate’s development plan also includes joint projects covering traffic safety improvements through road planning, directional signage upgrades and speed bumps at a cost of RO 100,000.
Additional projects include enhancing tourist sites with basic services valued at Ro 40,000, along with consultancy studies and architectural services for future projects, including the Development Project of the Old Sa’ara Neighbourhood with a heritage character, valued at RO 40,000.
