MUSCAT : His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has welcomed the understanding reached between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran, praising regional and international efforts aimed at preserving peace and stability in the region.
The remarks came during a Cabinet meeting chaired by His Majesty on Monday, according to statements released by the Oman News Agency (ONA).
The Cabinet expressed its appreciation for diplomatic efforts that contributed to easing tensions, with particular recognition of the role played by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states and Pakistan in helping prevent developments that could threaten regional security and stability.

His Majesty also commended the swift response and readiness of Oman’s military and security institutions in safeguarding the nation during recent regional developments.
He stressed the importance of maintaining vigilance to protect security and stability, while reaffirming Oman’s longstanding policy of neutrality and its commitment to international law.
His Majesty the Sultan further underscored the importance of ensuring the safety and security of maritime navigation and preserving freedom of passage through the Strait of Hormuz in accordance with international law.
